940 Series Knife Gate Valve-
The Model 940 is a unidirectional knife gate valve available in sizes 2”-24” and features a full lug single piece cast stainless steel
body (also available in special alloys) to cater to more demanding applications. This model can be used with the same functionality of flanged valves, including end of line applications. Model 940 has a cast superstructure designed to have optimum flexural
rigidity and also allows interchangeability between manual and pneumatic actuators. The Model 940 also features an integrated metal-to-metal seat as well as replaceable resilient seats in EPDM, Viton etc.

740 Series Knife Gate Valve-
The VAAS 740 series knife gate
valve is designed to meet the requirements of a general purpose bi-directional shut-off valve. An elastomer seal is held in a groove in the single-piece cast body and provides peripheral sealing of the gate edge. Since there is no raised seat or pres-sure-assisted sealing as in conventional
unidirectional knife gate valves, the 740 series provides zero leak bi-directional shut-off from minimum pressure to the rated pressure.

750 Series Bi-Directional Slurry Knife Gate Valve -
The VAAS 750 series knife gate valve is designed for bi-directional
tight shut-off to handle difficult media such as erosive and
abrasive slurries, sludges and dry powders. The valve
incorporates an elastomer seal around the periphery of the gate to
achieve fluid sealing. The valve also is fitted with a special
elastomer quad-seal in the gland packing which provides enhanced
sealing to atmosphere. Three models are available: Fig. 752,
(utilizes a reinforced nitrile U-seal), Fig. 755FRL, (utilizes
reinforced polyurethane bore liners and reinforced nitrile U-seal),
and Fig. 755P (with polyurethane lined body and reinforced nitrile
U-seal).

The VAAS 760 Series Slurry-Max is a gate valve designed to suit the
toughest applications in a variety of industries handling abrasive, erosive slurry
media often found in mining, power plants, cement, phosphoric acid and other industries.

780 Series Knife Gate Valve-
The VAAS 780 series knife gate is a through-going gate valve with a circular opening which allows for un-restricted flow path when the valve is open. Media which
is in the flow path while the valve is closing is moved inside valve body and as such will not hinder the movement of the gate and valve closure. A shearing action between the circular port opening in the gate and the seat rings in the body (both are suitably
hard-faced) allows closure even when some media particles obstruct the valve closure.
Optional secondary soft seating can be provided to improve seat tightness.
Flushing ports are provided in the valve body for periodic cleaning of the body chamber.
The 780 series is offered in cast iron, ductile iron or stainless steel body
construction with stainless steel gate; other materials are available as specials. Manual, pneumatic or electric actuation is available.

770 slide ported knife gate valve
- The VAAS 770 UNIVAS series knife gate
valve is designed to handle severe service applications in a variety of
industries. Basically a full port bi-directional ported gate valve, the design utilizes twin stainless steel reinforced elastomer seats that are in contact with the gate except during opening or closing. The elastomer seating surfaces are
only exposed to the media during short duration of the opening or closing operation. This ensures that the valve can work reliably even in slurry media that tend to coat (and possibly cement or harden) on seats.
Another unique feature is the automatic cleaning of the seating area. This is achieved by a simple, direct purge fluid connection to the
bottom valve body chamber using the purge ports provided as standard. Since the flow bore is isolated from the bottom body chamber except during opening or closing stroke, purge fluid (typically at about 5-10psi higher pressure than the
flow media) will automatically flow over the seating surfaces and clean them.

970 coal mill isolation knife gate valve
- Isolation of pulverized fuel firing lines
in thermal power plants presents one of the most demanding
applications for valves. The VAAS 970 coal mill isolation
knife gate valve is specially designed for use in this
application. The 970 series is designed to comply with the
requirements of NFPA-85 (2001) standard which governs
equipment used in coal mills and associated piping.

pneumatic cylinder actuators-
VAAS pneumatic actuators are designed for easy mounting on the VAAS
range of knife gate valves. They offer inter-changeability with the
manual hand wheel operator in most sizes and designs. These
actuators use a proven piston seal design that uses a PTFE seal
backed with nitrile o-ring. Combined with the standard FRP cylinder
tube, they offer very low friction and long seal life. The piston
rod is stainless steel for improved corrosion resistance and long
trouble-free operation.
